Shoe Repair

Yes, this is a menswear blog. No, that is not a man. But what she's wearing is menswear for women (or something like that).  Haha, ok consider that's a man in the picture and all problems sorted out. I love this look from Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair's latest collection. The half (or even lesser) hat, the bow-tie, the make-up (I'm not an expert on make-up, so the blue thing over the eyes) (as featured on men too in the collection) and the experiments of pushing boundaries of the formals. Looks quite fine and dandy to me.

That Shade of Blue - That Beautiful Cardigan

Click on the image to enlarge. It's not just the cardigan, but the belt too. Image from none other than Garance Dore. I believe that there's this wonderful charm about street style, Something you won't find on the runway or in a magazine editorial.

Accessories @ Kimmel

The Adam Kimmel show wasn't one of creative outburst or of pushing boundaries. It wasn't much actually, but the accessories have already been added to my fall wish-list. I am in love. The shoes especially and the scarf in image 1. Oh wait not to forget the braces in image 1.

Seeing Things - Too Many At a Time

Josh Beech seemed to rule the runway at Milan. He was at almost all the top (not necessarily the best) shows for Autumn Winter 09.
Left - Costume National. Right - Missoni.
Left - Neil Barrett. Right - Roberto Cavalli
Left - Alessandro Dell'Aqua. Right - Versace.
Centre - Belstaff

Message to Readers

I won't be posting for the weekend as I am going on a small weekend trip but I promise I will have a few posts after I get back on the on going fashion week. My favourites from Milan were Alexander McQueen, Bottega Veneta, D & G and Gianfranco Ferre. What were your favourites from Milan?

Burberry and Collars

I don't know what it is with Burberry and collars. Last time I posted on a beautiful collar design and now I spot these button down wing tip collars on the runway for their AW 09 collection. Oh and note to self - I think I should have named the blog after Burberry instead of on Prada haha.

Cummerbund Cool

I have to admit I have never in my life worn a cummerbund, but these Burberry versions make me want to, badly. I love the folk-y feel of it.

This Just Keeps Poping Up

First Gianni Agnelli, then Prada and now Duckie Brown. Duckie Brown SS 09.

Time for Some Colour

I have been in a black and white world for the past few days watching movies such as Control, so this is a wonderful change. Raf Simons x Fred Perry Spring Summer 09 Collection.

Burberry SS 09 Campaigns

I can't wait for summer especially after seeing these photos. More than the clothes I love the background. If I am ever going to visit a greenhouse, bringing my camera is one thing I will not forget. Click on the pictures to enlarge.

That Collar

That collar takes my breath away. (add to my to-do list - go to my tailor friend with a copy of this picture). Also an air-tie trend seems popular at Burberry for ss09. Oh and click on the image to enlarge.

Getting Quirky

With the recent recession people have reduced buying (especially new clothes). This means re-use clothing, but that doesn't mean saying no to creativity or to wear the same clothes over and over again in the same manner or style. Instead wear the clothes in a quirky way, a way you never dared to. For example the watch over shirt trend embraced by the legendary Gianni Agnelli. I found a similar detail in the Fall 06 Prada show (pictured below). Let me know if you have any of your own style quirks.

Welcome to Prada Play

You might be wondering what the name is all about. Well sitting in front of the computer thinking of a name for your blog (especially when almost all of them are taken) is not easy.  Mixing my love for Prada and my hatred for playing any kind of sport came the name Prada Play. Welcome and hope you have fun reading my blog.
